WTVQ PHOTO FRIDAY CONTEST 

TO ENTER

1. No purchase necessary.  Contest is subject to all federal, state and local laws.  Void where prohibited by law.  By entering, participants agree to these Official Rules. 

2. Submit by mail or e-mail, unlimited, original, distinct weather photographs of weather scenes, or nature scenes around the local area in horizontal format.  PHOTOGRAPHS MUST NOT INCLUDE PEOPLE AND MUST BE A PHOTOGRAPH YOU TOOK.  Along with your photograph, please provide your name, address, age, telephone number and location where you took the photograph.  Send submissions to: Jjames@wtvq.com or you can mail your submission to WTVQ, Attn:  Weather Pictures, 6940 Man O War Blvd., Lexington, KY  40509.

3. Each week, WTVQ will select one (1) photograph based upon distinctiveness and composition.  The photographer will win a Gust Buster umbrella valued at $50.  Qualifying photos may be shown during Action News at 5, 6 & 11 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Weekly winner’s photo may be shown during Action News at 6 p.m. Friday’s. A winner may only win once during the year.  

4. If seventeen (17) or younger, photographs must be submitted by a legal guardian of the minor.

5. Employees of WTVQ, Media General Operations, Inc. (the “Company”) and Gust Buster and any of the sponsors, and their affiliates, subsidiaries, distributors, suppliers, franchisees, promoters, and agents of any of these, and the immediate families of the employees of any of these, are not eligible.

6. This is a contest of skill and not chance.

7. The photographs submitted by the photographer are for use by the Company and in other publications or media of communications selected by the Company including, but not limited to, electronic or online, broadcast or other multimedia version or edition of, or counterpart, in derivative works and data storage retrieval.  The photographer hereby assigns to the Company, without any compensation, all of his right, title and interest in and to such photographs and that the photographs will be owned by the Company thereby vesting in the Company, its successors and assigns, full copyright ownership and all exclusive rights to use of the photographs. The Company shall have the right to edit, revise and adapt the photographs and to cause others to make such changes in the photographs as the Company may deem appropriate in order to prepare the same for publication. The Company shall refer to the photographer as author of the Works. The Company may use or authorize the use of the name, photograph or artistic likeness, and pertinent biographical data of the photographer in connection with the advertising or promotion of any publication of the photographs. 

8.  All federal, state and local laws apply.  Sponsors shall be entitled to interpret these rules as needed - including but not limited to rules regarding entries, choice of selected entries, deadlines, and eligibility - and all of their decisions are final.   WTVQ reserves the right to cancel, terminate or suspend this Contest or any part of this Contest should any non-authorized intervention, network failure, information storage failure, telecommunications failure, malfunction, or other causes beyond its control, corrupt or impair the security, administration, fairness and/or operation of this Contest as determined by WTVQ in its sole discretion.  WTVQ is not responsible for lost, interrupted, or unavailable network, server, or other connections, or for any failed telephone or computer hardware or software, or for any failed, delayed, misdirected, corrupted, or garbled transmissions or errors of any kind, whether human, mechanical, or electronic, or for entries that for any reason are not received by WTVQ by the deadline stated above.  WTVQ is also not responsible for any injury or damage to any computer, modem or other electrical device as a result of participation in this Contest or downloading of any software or materials.
